Expanded Meeting Between STACO and the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Libya

The Sheikh Taher Azzawi Charitable Foundation (STACO) received the Ambassador of the People’s Republic of China to Libya at its headquarters in Tripoli during an official visit focused on promoting cultural exchange, humanitarian cooperation, and the strengthening of mutual collaboration in the areas of capacity building and knowledge sharing.

The Ambassador was welcomed by Eng. Salem Ramadan, Chairman of the Foundation’s Board of Directors, who expressed his appreciation for the visit, describing it as an important step toward expanding avenues of cooperation and coordination with humanitarian and cultural institutions in China.

During the meeting, the Chinese Ambassador praised the pivotal role played by STACO in advancing humanitarian and cultural work both within Libya and internationally. He affirmed his country’s commitment to supporting initiatives that foster mutual understanding and closer ties between nations through joint humanitarian and cultural efforts.

For his part, Eng. Ramadan expressed his gratitude for the Chinese Embassy’s interest in strengthening humanitarian and cultural relations with the Foundation. He also highlighted STACO’s readiness to launch joint projects that contribute to capacity building and sustainable development in Libyan society.

At the conclusion of the visit, the Chairman presented the Ambassador with a book chronicling the life and intellectual legacy of Sheikh Taher Azzawi, as a token of appreciation and to reflect the depth of the friendly relations between the two sides.

This visit comes as part of STACO’s ongoing efforts to enhance cooperation and exchange expertise with international organizations and institutions, with the goal of strengthening its capacity and humanitarian response in the fields of health, education, and community development both in Libya and beyond.
