His Excellency the Minister of Displaced Affairs at the Prime Minister met with the delegate of the International Organization for Migration (IOM) and the Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation on the file of the displaced in Libya.
His Excellency the Minister of Displaced Affairs at the Prime Minister’s Office stressed the importance of concerted efforts to find ways to reduce the negative effects that the displaced are exposed to as a result of the current conditions, stressing the importance of the participation of all governmental, civil and international organizations to reach the desired goal, which is human service.
The Chairman of the Board of Directors of STACO also spoke about the obstacles that hinder the functioning of charitable institutions, stressing the need to overcome them to reach the best results in establishing the rules of sustainable development that reflect positively on everyone.
The representative of IOM indicated that the operations of returning the displaced need to create an appropriate atmosphere in all respects.
The meeting also discussed ways of cooperation and coordination with the Ministry of Displaced Affairs against the background of the current situation, in order to put forward the necessary proposals to alleviate the suffering of the affected people on all Libyan soil.
The meeting touched on ways to create conditions for the reconstruction of the city of Tawergha and to provide the necessary services to the city’s residents.
It is worth noting that the Staco Charitable Foundation is one of the most important active partners on the ground, which works with international organizations concerned with migration and IDPs files on the one hand, and with government institutions on the other hand, and it has the most prominent role in the “Displaced Tracking Matrix” project (DTM) in partnership with IOM, which The Foundation implements more than 75% of it, which provides an accurate database for the numbers of displaced people and migrants on the entire Libyan soil.
