Sheikh Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation Participates in the Audit Bureau’s First Ramadan Season

The Sheikh Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation (STACO) participated in the Audit Bureau’s first Ramadan season through a dialogue session titled “Civil Society and the Media and Their Role in Supporting Oversight and Accounting Efforts,” which was held at the Guest Palaces – the Bureau’s headquarters.
The session was opened by Mr. Attiyat Allah Hussein Abdul Karim with a welcoming speech, during which he emphasized the importance of the role of active stakeholders in supporting oversight and accountability and enhancing the oversight impact in society.
The dialogue was attended by representatives of 50 civil society organizations, along with media professionals, journalists, and bloggers, who discussed the importance of integrating efforts between the media, civil society, and the Audit Bureau to enhance transparency and accountability.
Participants also raised a number of questions about the Bureau’s working mechanisms, which were answered and discussed in detail, contributing to enriching the discussion and enhancing a shared understanding of the role of oversight bodies in achieving good governance.
STACO emphasizes the importance of strengthening partnerships between civil society institutions, the media, and oversight bodies to ensure effective transparency and accountability, and to contribute to building strong institutions that support sustainable development in Libya.
