STACO and the National Library of Indonesia Hold Strategic Meeting to Boost Cultural and Knowledge Exchange
Jakarta, Indonesia
In a major step toward building cultural bridges and enriching global knowledge, a delegation from the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Charity Foundation (STACO) held an expanded meeting with the Director General of the National Library of Indonesia in Jakarta. The discussions focused on strengthening cooperation in publishing, translation, and documentation.
Translating the Works of Imam Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi
A primary highlight of the meeting was the discussion of a strategic cultural project to translate the complete works of Imam Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi into the Indonesian language. This initiative aims to make his valuable scientific and historical heritage accessible to Indonesian researchers and readers, highlighting Libyan thought and history within Indonesian society.
Bringing Indonesian Heritage to the Arabic Language
Promoting reciprocal exchange, the two parties discussed translating prominent Indonesian titles into Arabic. The talks focused on eight key titles of high historical and cultural value—all of which are officially recognized and documented by UNESCO. This project will serve as a window for the Arab world to explore Indonesia’s ancient and diverse culture.
Exchange of Publications and Periodicals
The meeting also established practical mechanisms for the ongoing exchange of publications, including books, journals, and scientific periodicals. This collaboration seeks to enrich library collections in both nations, providing diverse resources for researchers and academics.
This partnership reflects STACO’s commitment to engaging with leading global cultural institutions and building sustainable knowledge partnerships that preserve human heritage and facilitate the flow of information between nations.
