STACO Discusses Climate Change with Representatives of the United Nations Development Program and the Islamic Development Bank

Engineer Salem Al-Qamoudi, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sheikh Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation, received Mr. Mohammed Saleh, Deputy Head of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) Mission, and Mr. Osama Mansour, Representative of the Islamic Development Bank (LIB), as part of a visit that addressed the topic of “The Implications of Climate Change: Additional Challenges for Cities Affected by Crises”.
The discussions focused on the impact of climate change on cities facing humanitarian and development crises, while exploring ways of cooperation to develop innovative projects aimed at mitigating the repercussions of climate change. Mechanisms to support the most affected communities through sustainable initiatives that contribute to enhancing their ability to confront environmental shocks were also discussed.
This visit comes in the context of strengthening the partnership between the Foundation and international bodies, as the discussions emphasized the importance of concerted efforts to confront climate crises and achieve sustainable development, ensuring social justice and effective support for affected groups.
