STACO Explores Cooperation with Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) in Tokyo to Enhance Sustainable Development Initiatives

As part of its ongoing efforts to strengthen international partnerships and expand cooperation with global development agencies, the Sheikh Taher Azzawi Charitable Foundation (STACO) held an extensive meeting with the Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) at the agency’s headquarters in Tokyo.
The meeting was led by Eng. Salem Ramadan, Chairman of STACO’s Board of Directors, accompanied by Mr. Mohamed Wahi, Director of Programs at the Foundation. They were received by Mr. Arai Yukinobu, JICA’s Officer for the Middle East and Europe.
Discussions focused on exploring areas of mutual cooperation in sustainable development, capacity building, education, youth and women empowerment, food security, and support for crisis-affected communities. Both sides also reviewed JICA’s leading experience in international development projects and discussed opportunities for knowledge exchange and collaboration in implementing humanitarian and development programs in Libya and across Africa.
Eng. Salem Ramadan emphasized STACO’s commitment to building strategic partnerships with international organizations of expertise, highlighting that cooperation with JICA represents a significant step toward developing impactful and sustainable programs that improve livelihoods and promote human development.
For his part, Mr. Arai Yukinobu welcomed STACO’s initiative and expressed JICA’s willingness to explore potential areas of collaboration aligned with the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and humanitarian priorities in the region.
This meeting comes as part of STACO’s International Cooperation Strategy for 2025, which aims to expand global partnerships, exchange expertise with international development actors, and strengthen the Foundation’s capacity to deliver effective and sustainable projects that contribute to the well-being and resilience of communities in need.
