STACO Participates in MAS-ICNA 2024 Annual Conference in Chicago

Dr. Shukri Ibrahim Shukri, Program Director at the Sheikh Taher Zawi Charitable Foundation (STACO), participated in the 2024 Annual Conference organized by the Muslim American Society (MAS) and the Islamic Circle of North America (ICNA) in Chicago.
The MAS-ICNA conference is one of the largest and most diverse Islamic gatherings in North America, attracting over 45,000 participants this year, including prominent scholars, community leaders, activists, and international NGOs.
This year’s conference was themed “Breaking Chains and Driving Change” and focused on the core challenges facing Muslim communities in the United States and around the world, highlighting unity and community empowerment, and addressing local and international crises.
As part of his participation, Dr. Shukri attended strategic discussions with representatives of prominent international Islamic organizations. These discussions addressed vital issues such as promoting active participation in civic arenas, and developing strategies to improve the social and economic well-being of Muslim communities both locally and internationally.
Commenting on the conference, Dr. Shukri said:

The conference included a variety of lectures, workshops and dialogue sessions presented by a group of scholars and activists. These events discussed pivotal topics such as building community resilience, engaging youth and the importance of preserving cultural identity in light of rapid global transformations.
