The “Peacemakers” network was launched in the presence of more than 80 Libyan figures, including heads of political parties, professional unions, and civil society organizations, at the first meeting of political and civil forces during a conference held in Tunisia to launch an initiative that includes parties, political organizations, civil society organizations, and tribal sheikhs, in order to discuss the multiple road map. The paths where the road map was adopted with the approval of all participants to get out of the political impasse in Libya.

The initiative proposes what it calls a “full package solution,” by focusing on finding solutions to the most difficult issues.
The proposed committee derives its legitimacy from Security Council resolutions, in particular Resolution No. “2015-2259”, regarding the adoption of the political agreement on December 17, 2015, and Article “64” of this agreement, in addition to the agreements previously reached by the Libyan parties, which in their entirety confirmed support for A comprehensive political process led by Libyans and supported by the international community, to create conditions for holding elections on a constitutional basis.
