STACO Participates in the UN Summit of the Future

In line with its ongoing commitment to the Sustainable Development Goals and human rights, the Sheikh Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation is participating in the Summit of the Future, held as part of the 79th session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York. The Foundation is represented at this global event by its Programs Director, Dr. Shukri Ibrahim, who presents the organization’s vision on the most pressing economic and social challenges.
The Foundation’s participation in this event is part of its efforts to enhance global dialogue on issues directly impacting humanity. The summit brings together world leaders, including heads of state, foreign ministers, delegates, thought leaders, and civil society representatives, to discuss key topics such as:
Strengthening Global Governance: The summit emphasized the need for enhanced international cooperation to address cross-border challenges like climate change and cybersecurity, with calls for reforming institutions to better respond to global issues.
Climate Action and Sustainability: Leaders called for accelerating climate action and achieving sustainability, focusing on the implementation of the Paris Agreement and the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development.
Digital Transformation: The growing role of digital technologies was highlighted, with participants calling for responsible governance of artificial intelligence and emerging technologies, ensuring inclusivity, security, and ethical standards.
Equality and Human Rights: Attendees underscored the importance of protecting human rights and promoting social and economic equality, with a focus on supporting vulnerable groups, including women, youth, and marginalized communities.
