The World Health Organization meeting was held to coordinate the health sector in the capital, Tunis, and the meeting was attended by representatives of the Libyan Ministry of Health from various regions, the director of the health office of the Sheikh Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation – STACO, the representative of the Italian GVG Foundation, the CEFA Foundation, the International Committee of the Red Cross, and the United Nations Housing Fund, The United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees, the United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs, the International Organization for Migration, the European Union, and also the Italian Cooperation.
The discussions focused on “the available health assessment process and putting forward the required suggestions in the health sector to suit the existing needs. Three axes were also discussed, namely the coordination mechanism and its results, the health sector’s competencies and how to set the required standards.”
The focus was mainly on the review of the terms of reference required by migration affairs by the United Nations. The sub-working fundamentals such as health, nutrition, immigrant affairs, existing rights and implementation of the humanitarian response plan at the same time serve as a platform for advocating a different strategic plan thus promoting the delivery of integrated and comprehensive services.
