Chairman of the Board of Directors, Eng. Salem Ramadan, Receives the Chargé d’Affaires of the Canadian Embassy in Tripoli

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand its international partnerships and advance humanitarian work, the Sheikh Tahir AL Zawi Charity Organization welcomed the Chargé d’Affaires of the Embassy of Canada to Libya, Mr. Peter Bondy, at its headquarters in the capital, Tripoli. He was received by the Chairman of the Board of Directors, Eng. Salem Ramadan, along with several of the organization’s department directors.
This high-level visit reflects the growing international interest in the vital role played by local institutions in supporting stability and development. During the meeting, Eng. Salem Ramadan accompanied the Canadian guest on an introductory tour of the organization’s facilities, where he listened to detailed explanations regarding the workflow across various departments. He also reviewed a comprehensive presentation documenting the prominent relief projects, development programs, and medical initiatives implemented by the organization.
The bilateral talks featured an in-depth discussion on humanitarian work strategies and the development of response mechanisms, focusing on establishing effective communication channels and opening new avenues for joint cooperation. Both parties explored ways to coordinate and network directly with non-governmental organizations and civil society institutions in Canada, aiming to exchange technical expertise, build institutional capacities, and transfer successful models that contribute to the sustainability of social welfare and economic empowerment programs.
For his part, Mr. Peter Bondy commended the level of organization, professionalism, and the significant positive impact the organization achieves through its field operations, emphasizing the important role of Libyan civil society. At the conclusion of the meeting, Eng. Salem Ramadan affirmed that this visit represents a major strategic step toward building sustainable bridges of international cooperation, which will enhance the organization’s capacity to deliver a comprehensive humanitarian response that meets the aspirations of the community.
