On Wednesday, April 25, 2018, the Anti-Illegal Immigration Agency – Tripoli Branch – Sikka Road, a vaccination campaign was held, as part of the World Immunization Week, a global public health campaign to raise awareness and increase immunization rates against vaccine-preventable diseases around the world. . This global campaign is held every year during the last week of April.
The campaign aimed to vaccinate 18 children accompanying their families of illegal immigrants. The vaccination process was carried out under the supervision of the National Center for Disease Control (NCDC), the World Health Organization (WHO), and in cooperation with the Sheikh Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Organization (STACO), the International Medical Corps (IMC), the International Organization for Migration (IOM), the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) and the Sidi Salim Health Center of the Office of Health Services. The campaign will continue throughout this week in all centers to combat illegal immigration.
It is noteworthy that the theme of this year’s World Immunization Week is (Protected Together), which aims to urge more action to immunize the world against vaccine-preventable diseases, with a special focus on the role that everyone can play in order to immunize to public good.
