STACO Chairman and Brazilian Chargé d’Affaires Discuss Enhancing Academic and Scientific Cooperation

As part of its ongoing efforts to expand international partnerships and broaden the horizons of joint cooperation, Engineer Salem Ramadan, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Charity Foundation (STACO), held an extensive meeting with H.E. Fernando José de Abreu, the Brazilian Chargé d’Affaires to the State of Libya and Ambassador to Tunisia.

Strengthening Academic and Research Partnerships

The meeting’s agenda focused primarily on exploring ways to build and develop pathways for academic and scientific cooperation between research and educational institutions. During the session, Engineer Salem Ramadan outlined the Foundation’s vision and its diligent efforts in supporting the academic sector. He highlighted strategic initiatives aimed at exchanging expertise and elevating the standard of scientific research, emphasizing the importance of benefiting from Brazil’s pioneering experience in transferring and localizing knowledge.

Consolidating Bilateral Relations

For his part, H.E. Ambassador Fernando José de Abreu praised the leading role played by the Sheikh Tahir Al-Zawi Charity Foundation, expressing his country’s sincere keenness to activate and develop bilateral relations with Libya across various fields.

This meeting gains additional significance as it coincides with ongoing diplomatic efforts to resume the operations of the Brazilian Embassy from the capital, Tripoli.
