The “Russia – Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group Commences Meetings in Kazan with Broad International Participation
The annual meeting of the “Russia – Islamic World” Strategic Vision Group has commenced in Kazan, the capital of the Republic of Tatarstan. Held this year under the theme “Shared Values as the Foundation for Cooperation and Mutual Understanding,” the meeting saw a notable presence of high-ranking officials and civil society leaders from across the Islamic world and the Russian Federation.
Strengthening Dialogue and Shared Values
The group’s sessions focused on exploring ways to enhance rapprochement between Russia and Islamic nations amidst current global challenges. Discussions covered key pillars, including cultural and humanitarian cooperation and the importance of activating interreligious dialogue as a cornerstone of international stability. Additionally, participants reviewed strategies for the “Greater Eurasian Partnership.”
In this context, the Al-Taher Al-Zawi Charitable Foundation (STACO) participated in the summit following an official invitation. The foundation was represented by Eng. Salem Ramadan, Chairman of the Board of Directors, who contributed to discussions regarding the role of non-governmental organizations in strengthening ties of friendship and expanding joint developmental horizons to serve mutual humanitarian interests.
Kazan Economic Forum and Future Prospects
The group’s meeting coincided with the 17th International Economic Forum “KazanForum,” the premier platform for commercial cooperation between Russia and the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC). Participants, including the STACO delegation, attended forum activities focused on Islamic finance and the Halal industry. They also attended the opening ceremony celebrating “Kazan as the Cultural Capital of the Islamic World 2026.”
At the conclusion of the sessions, participants emphasized the importance of continuing this strategic dialogue to develop partnership relations. They stressed that cooperation in scientific, technical, and humanitarian fields remains the cornerstone for building a sustainable future based on mutual trust between the two sides.
